In Turkey Police have been violent towards citizens in many cities especially while enforcing the curfew, and these violence images have been published in the press. At the same time, protests against police violence still continue in America and in Europe.

Youth organizations assembled in Kadıköy to protest against police violence. The protest march was planned to start in front of the bull statue and a banner was carried saying “Your Normal Is Police Violence!”. However, the police stopped the march and stated that it was not allowed. The police reacted violently to youth organizations’ insistence on their right to march. Twenty-nine students were detained.

It was reported to us that the students were also tortured in the detention vehicle.
