National Thematic Meeting, Ireland – June 2024
The second thematic meeting of the ‘BİRLİKTE’ programme focusing on governance, HR management and leadership was held in Dublin. Organised by the Turkish Civil Society Development Centre (STGM) in collaboration with Irish partners such as The Wheel, Carmichael, Enclude and Smashing Times, the event aims to promote mutual learning and cooperation between civil society organisations (CSOs) from Turkey and Ireland.
In the three-day event held between 26-28 June 2024, representatives from Uğur Mumcu Foundation, Aramızda Association, SPoD, Equality Monitoring Center, Zan Social Political Economic Research Foundation, Positive Life Association, Hêvî LGBTI+, CISST, STGM and Civic Space Studies Association came together. Discussions were held around topics such as performance management, corporate well-being, multidimensional leadership models and good governance practices.
The programme’s calendar included sessions held in prominent Dublin venues such as Europe House, Carmichael House and The Wheel offices. Each session included in-depth discussion and Q&A sessions led by experts from The Wheel and other participating organisations. Topics ranged from corporate reporting systems, HR management practices and leadership development strategies.
The programme also included cultural activities such as a walking tour of Dublin city and a group dinner, providing an opportunity for informal networking and relationship building among participants beyond the formal sessions.
The ‘BİRLİKTE’ programme, supported by Irish and Turkish sponsors, reflected a commitment to increase the operational capacity and impact of civil society organisations through international cooperation and knowledge sharing.
